I guess we exercise to live

Or we wont live long--with achy breaky joints at that.

When we were younger, we live to eat, to play, to enjoy life in general. But as we near midlife, the benefits of exercise become clear. We then exercise to live. Try not to be active and you'll feel your body wasting away (i.e., heavy, not-so-good, sluggish feeling). But be active, indulge in sports or in any activity and you'll feel like you have not grown old at all. I want to live to an old ripe age with no sickness as much as possible (if ever there is such a thing). I would like to be like an old man here who, at 88 yrs old, is still as strong as most of our 40 year olds back home and run at least 40 mins a day. I once had the opportunity to ask him how he was able to do it (running) and stick to it. He told me: "Start walking first; just keep walking. Eventually you will like to run. SHould you get tired, don't quit, just walk again. Whether you accept it or not, walking is inevitable in our life. We need to walk (or keep moving) to be alive."

Yes, I think so..I'd feel sluggish if I skip gym.

70 yr old bodybuilders

I guess I am never too old for anything.
