"It is a water buffalo resting..."


"NO, it is an elephant lying down."

"Wrong! It is a mountain. And this is my first oil painting".

I hope my Japanese friend was honest in saying this is good enough for a beginner. Actually, the mountain was colored ash gray (because it is a volcano). But I got a mistake of putting on a dark green color. In desperation, I covered it a combination of other colors. The mountain turned dark maroonish brown instead. The field below which used to be creamy yellow and touches of green was darkened to compliment with the darkened mountain. Nevertheless, the clouds are close to real.
